MORE ABOUT EM3
EM3 was created to address high rates of gang violence, high school drop-outs, and teen pregnancies among Southeast Asian youth. In the 1990s, the high school drop-out rate was much higher for Cambodian male youth than Cambodian female youth. Since then, EM3 has "graduated" over 500 Southeast Asian youth in more than 20 years. About 85% of the "graduates" have gone on to pursue higher education. The top 3 skills participants learn are community advocacy, job interview skills, and leadership skills. 85% of participants indicated that the EM3 program helped them discover their skills and interests, and helped them perform better in school. 95% of participants indicated that the EM3 program will help them prepare for a better future. All participants stated they had fun, learned new life skills, and would recommend this program to their friends.
